A "mediarezo" is a publishing platform where users can submit articles, as well as a content syndication portal.

A mediarezo is therefore both a participatory website inspired by the practices of online journalism and activist media, and a network of websites selected by its moderators to inform themselves and others in different ways.
Its objective is to highlight websites and blogs that cover current events from alternative perspectives, or that address issues and topics that are rarely discussed—or are presented in a biased manner—by mainstream media.
